Why Mason Bees?
Mason Bees are excellent pollinators for spring blossoms including apples, pears, plums, peaches, cherries, and blueberries. Unlike honeybees, they don’t produce honey or require hive inspections, making them perfect for gardeners, homeowners, and educators. They’re only active for 6 to 8 weeks in early spring, and they work quickly and efficiently while being completely non-aggressive—safe to have around kids and pets.
Mason Bees are named for their use of mud to cap their egg chambers. They build their nests in natural holes and tubes, which makes them easy to house and support with minimal upkeep. With the right setup, you can raise a healthy pollinator population year after year.
Getting Started is Easy
Order your cocoons in the winter and have them ready for release in the spring. Install a bee house in a sunny, dry location and let nature do the rest.
