Beekeepers use smaller hive boxes for many purposes such as: transporting a colony, raising a split, catching swarms or nursing a weaker hive.
BC Bee Supply has several Nuc Boxes to choose from and each has their advantage. These boxes will hold 4 frames and/or a frame feeder and food. They can all be locked in some way so that bees can be transported safely in a vehicle. Also, they have entrances so that the hive can still forage for food.
