Oxalic acid is an organic compound found in nature within many plants, including vegetables, leafy greens, fruits, nuts, seeds and more. For beekeepers, "OA" has been shown to be a direct and effective treatment for Varroa mites, especially if it is used when brood is minimal.
Apply in late fall to early spring when monitoring indicates treatment is necessary. Apply to beehives via sugar solution dribble, vaporizer or fogger.
