"Full Hive" of Honeybees – Price Includes Carrier Box Deposit

Availability for Full Hives will resume in July 2025. You can reserve below or contact BC Bee Supply to be placed on the reservation list for this season.

Nucleus Colony Details

These specially grown "8 frame hives" are sourced from local suppliers selected by BC Bee Supply to ensure the highest quality bees. Each hive includes 8 deep Langstroth frames with a mated queen, some capped brood, uncapped larvae, bees, pollen, and honey stores, all housed in a 10-frame box. The bees are delivered in a solid, travel-safe box for which a deposit is required.

The purchase includes a $50 deposit for the travel screens/carrier box. You can return your screens for a refund of the deposit, or keep them for swarm catching or relocating a colony.

Once you place an order online, we will follow up with you before or during July 2025. Full Hives are typically available in June or July, depending on weather conditions and bee growth. A pick-up date and time will be emailed to you approximately one week in advance.

Important Notes:

  • These full colonies may consist of overwintered stock with a surviving queen or a newly established queen.
  • The bees are certified as healthy livestock but may contain varroa mites.
  • Methods of mite treatment or hive management may vary based on seasonal weather and the timing of hive pick-up.
  • Nucleus colonies become the customer's responsibility once picked up from BC Bee Supply. While we strive to provide support and advice, many factors beyond our control can affect the success of these colonies after pick-up. Therefore, BC Bee Supply cannot guarantee the development, establishment, or success of a colony once the bees are collected.
  • No returns or guarantees on live bees.
  • All paid reservations and purchases for live bees (nucs, packages, queens, mason bees) are non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-cancellable.
