"All About Worms" Kids Educational Workshop - 5 week series

All about the Worms 5 week series 

With the Environment being so important, learning how to do your part to benefit our families today and in the future. Enjoy this new educational series of classes at Muckabout Gift Gallery (upstairs from BC Bee Supply) which will focus on various parts of our environment, science and craft. 

In this series at Muckabout, kids will learn about Vermiculture. Vermiculture is the process of growing worms, with the goal of using worms to decompose food waste, turning the waste into nutrients needed to grow strong and healthy plants. They work as your personal gardener. Besides making organic fertilizer, these little guys help rid your soil of disease and pests and act as a sustainable way to compost your food waste. This is a fancy way of saying worms are a fascinating science project.

All lessons will be taught in conjunction with an interactive book reading followed by discussion and activities. Kids will learn and craft at the same time.  

Books presented in class will be available for purchase following each class.

Taught by Raquel, an Elementary school educator that will make science fun as well as educational. 

Ages 7 to 10 years recommended.

Dress for a mess.
